Privacy Policy
NSW Planner ("we", "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights.
Information we collect
- Account information: username, email address, and a securely hashed password (we never store your password in plain text).
- Usage data: activity such as logins, briefings generated, reports exported, and watchlist changes, used to operate and improve the service.
- Payment information: if you subscribe to a paid plan, payment is processed by Stripe. We do not store your credit card details — Stripe handles this directly (see Payment Security).
How we use your information
- To provide and maintain your account and access to the service.
- To communicate with you (e.g. weekly digest emails, if enabled) via our email provider, Resend.
- To generate AI-written briefings — when you request a briefing, relevant council/data context is sent to our AI provider (currently xAI's Grok API) to generate the response. We do not send your personal account details (name, email, password) to the AI provider — only the development-data context needed to write the briefing.
- To improve the product, based on aggregated usage patterns.
Data sharing
We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with the service providers necessary to operate NSW Planner (Stripe for payments, Resend for email, xAI for AI-generated briefings), each bound by their own privacy and security obligations.
Your rights
You can request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information at any time by contacting us at admin@planradar.com.au. You can also close your account directly from your account settings.
Data retention
We retain your account data for as long as your account is active, and for a reasonable period after closure as required for legal, accounting, or security purposes.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be notified via email or in-app notice.
